DAY 24: MERRY CHRISTMAS EVE!!!!!!!!!!

ADVENT-urer, you made it to the final day. Tired of me yet?

🎄🎄 🎄🎄 🎄🎄 🎄🎄 🎄🎄 🎄🎄 🎄🎄 🎄🎄 🎄🎄 🎄🎄 🎄🎄 🎄🎄 🎄🎄 🎄🎄

Today’s very special Christmas Eve slot holds something truly festive and worth the wait: a can of our Barrel Aged Christmas Ale! 🍺

This seasonal treat takes our beloved Christmas Ale—a rich, spiced Winter Warmer—and adds another layer of magic by aging it in Bulleit (!!) Bourbon barrels. The result? A sippin’ beer with deep complexity and warmth, perfect for cozying up by the fire tonight. Crack it open and give it a try, or leave it out for Santa (if you dare). Either way, it’s the ultimate holiday indulgence. PLUS don't miss your Bulleit ice mold for leveling up your bourbon (or beer cocktail!) game! It's been advent-team tested and approved!

But wait—there’s more UNDER THE GRID! Lift up those slots in your Advent box to find a very special gift a 2025 Cricket Press tea towel that you can use all year long!

As we close out this year’s Advent Box journey, I want to say the biggest thank you. Thank you for purchasing, reading along, and supporting West Sixth and local beer. Your enthusiasm makes this all so worthwhile, and our team pours so much love into curating this experience each year. We hope that came through in every beer and surprise you uncovered.

Cheers to a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, from all of us here at West Sixth:

  • Madison (Social Media/Blog, Advent Elf, Token Gen Z Representative)

  • Katie (The Actual Santa Claus, Advent Curator, Merch Queen)

  • Kelly (Creative Director, Head of Advent Elves /Team Leader)

  • Tim (Kentucky Events Manager, Advent Elf, Organizational Wizard)

  • Clarke (Graphic Designer, Advent Elf, Cannagrams Creator)

DAY 23: ARTSY FARTSY IPARTSY

YO remember that artsy Cerveza? Yeah, well day 23 (the penultimate day!!) boasts an artsy IPA!

Our dear friend, Sara Turner at Cricket Press designed this label just for our advent calendar. The beautiful blues and greens evoke a sense of calm - and transport you on a hike through the Kentucky wilderness. The beer is our classic, flagship IPA that you know and love, but the art? For the love of God, keep this and put it next to the Cerveza! I'm telling you they make great vases, ornaments - even places to pour candles! They don't have to stay empty cans - but I hope you do cherish this artwork for a long time.

Personally, I'm ready to have Sara paint this mural in my house (as if that's in my budget) - but I'll settle for a pretty flower in the world's prettiest can on my dining room table. CHEERS! ENJOY! And read below for IPA facts

WEST SIXTH IPA - Our India Pale Ale has Citrus as the obvious star. Over the backbone of bready malt and pine stickiness you will find notes of peaches, lemon zest, danky grassiness, pine needles, and tangerines. Each sip is followed by a dangerously drinkable amount of resinous glamour.

HOPS: Cascade, Centennial, Citra, Columbus

MALT: 2-Row, Caramel, Honey Malt, Flaked Barley

YEAST: West Sixth House Ale

ABV: 7%

DAY 22: CHERRY, CHERRY

Today’s gift is crisp, refreshing, and a little unexpected: our Cherry Cider! 🍒 Perfect for sipping during the holiday hustle, this cider brings a fresh, tart twist to your season.

This isn’t your average super-sweet cider. We’ve kept it balanced, letting the natural tartness of cherries shine with just a hint of apple crispness to round it out. The result? A refreshing drink that’s bright, lively, and so easy to enjoy—whether you’re trimming the tree, swapping cookies, or just kicking back after a long day.

Cherry Cider is a crowd favorite for a reason. If today has added you to its fan club, grab a 6-pack for yourself or go big with a 12-pack Party Variety Pack for your next holiday get-together. And if you’re swinging by the taproom, we’ve got it ready to pour fresh on tap.

Cheers ! SEE YOU TOMORROW !

DAY 21: DON'T TAKE A TUMBLE - TAKE A TUMBLER!

Meet your new favorite tumbler! This little gem is about to become your go-to sidekick for all things on-the-go. We took the durable, trusty Created Tumbler and gave it a West Sixth twist with some nature-inspired branding—because who doesn’t love a little extra local beer personality?

It’s not just good-looking, though—it’s seriously hardworking. Whether you’re keeping your coffee hot on a brisk morning walk or your beer cold after a long day, this tumbler gets the job done. And can we take a second to appreciate this sage green? I’m obsessed. It’s the perfect shade for literally everything—it just works.

Oh, and prepare yourself for all the compliments. Whether you’re at the brewery, in the office, or running errands, people will notice this tumbler. It’s stylish, functional, and full of personality—kind of like you! And me! And the whole dang team!

DAY 20: COVINGTON HAUS COMING SOON

COMING SOON: WEST SIXTH COVINGTON HAUS! Today's gift is a nod to the newest West Sixth addition - West Sixth Covington Haus! Our team has been working hard to get this historic building ready to serve beer & build community - and we wanted to pass on some of our excitement on day 20!

This slot contains (one of the very first) can(s) of our Covington Haus Lager, a CovHaus sticker, & a Covington Haus-themed ornament of our new mascot! This mascot choice is extra special, as it pays homage to the history of our newly acquired building.

Over the years, Covington Haus has been home to several notable establishments, including a sports bar named TICKETS and most recently, Flying Axes. But it’s best known as the popular 'Covington Haus' bar and restaurant, led by the late Mick Noll, a relentless advocate for the city of Covington. It was at the Covington Haus bar & restaurant that this small man in Lederhosen could be found on the menu! With permission of the Noll family, we are ecstatic to be able to use this iconography as part of West Sixth Covington Haus' story as well. And for you to be able to put him on your tree!

Stay tuned for Covington Haus updates - and we'll see you there in 2025!

Covington Haus Lager: A crisp German style Pilsner brewed with noble hops and fermented with German Lager yeast. Bready/cracker malt notes complimented by spicy herbal noble hop character. 5.7% ABV

DAY 19: CHRISTMAS IN JULY JULY IN CHRISTMAS

You've heard of Christmas in July, but have you heard of July on Christmas? Celebrate the Holidays like an Australian today with this Sun Shade Wheat, some West Sixth Sunglasses, and an awesome little bookmark for your beach read - made by our friends at Hound Dog Press. It might be cold, but today we invite you to bring a little *July energy* to your festivities. Throw on your swimsuit, throw up your lawn chair by the fire, and ENJOY today's gift. See ya tomorrow!

SUN SHADE WHEAT- A light easy to drink Spring-time beer full of wheat malt flavor, balanced with citrus & fruity esters. - 5% ABV, with additions of Orange peel!

DAY 18: A CAN OF SNAKES?!

Opening this might open a...can of snakes...! Get it? Like a can of worms? Ok, ok that’s my pun quota for today, promise.

If you weren't aware, for the first time EVER in 2024, we canned our fan-favorite barrel-aged Imperial Stout: Snake Cake. Snake Cake is the big beer of big beers. At 13% ABV this big, bold, chocolatey, barrel-aged beer packs a major punch. Chill this can and sip it slowly - we recommend pairing it with your favorite dessert.

Wondering about the name? I'll let you in on that too. Our classic Imperial Stout is a beer called "Snake Eyes" because of its 11% ABV rating - when we decided to barrel age it was like we were turning that Imperial Stout into a sweeter, bigger version of itself: A Snake Cake! All Snake variants are a riff on this name. So add that to your West Sixth lore knowledge - and enjoy today's beer!

See ya tomorrow for day 19!

DAY 17: CHOCOHOLICS ANONYMOUS

OH MAN is today a dream (especially if you're a chocolate lover like me)!

There are a few days every year where we have a rogue bag of Briess Balls roaming around the brewery - and I'm not the only one that can't get enough of them. If you want one, you better be one of the first to know they're circulating - otherwise, you're just gonna have to wait for another lucky day. I guess we could buy our own but that's no fun. Fortunately for me, they usually start the day right by my desk. And even more fortunately for you, you get to have all the Briess, rich, chocolate, crunchy malt balls you want without fighting a single co-worker! And we gave you a cocoa porter to have with it?! I'd be jumping up and down if I were you.

Enjoy the HECK out of this Cocoa Porter and Briess Balls! It's a pairing from chocoholic heaven.

Pay it Forward Cocoa Porter - 6.5% ABV - A big and roasty American Porter with cacao nibs lending a complimenting chocolate character while also providing a unique mouthfeel.

Pay it Forward Cocoa Porter is aptly named. For every six-pack sold we give back $0.50 to our current non-profit partner - and right now in Lexington & Louisville, when you order a PIF Cocoa Porter in the taproom, we're kicking back a portion of each beer to our non-profit of the month. It's a win-win.
