Day 12 - Changing Channels!

This slot is for our hop lovers, Hop Static collectors & channel surfers! Enjoy & compare side by side Hop Static Ch. 6 & Ch. 7!

Here's some tasting notes to help guide your taste buds: Hop Static Ch. 6 is a classic west coast style IPA -- brewed with Simcoe, Chinook, Amarillo, & Centennial hops -- this guy has notes of citrus, tropical fruit, & pine, paired with a clean, balanced malt body. Hop Static Ch. 7 is another west coast style IPA with a few key differences. Brewed with Strata, Eureka, & Mosaic hops, Ch 7 showcases huge hop aromatics with a massive flavor range -- from resinous pine, to notes of apricot, and balanced by a light bready caramel malt body. Both channels were dry hopped and clock in right at 7.5% ABV. Send us a message on insta @westsixth & let us know which channel is your fav!

Psssst…. check out our staff trying first sips of ch. 6 earlier this year! How many pineapples did you count?

Day 11 - Socks Not for Snacking

Spicy Snack Mix & SOCKS!! We are so super stoked about this spicy snack mix TUBE! Made by our non-profit friends & Bread Box neighbors at FoodChain, the tube design fits snugly in your advent box. Spicy Snack Mix contains spicy almonds, goldfish crackers, Zel's Fiery Pretzels (sourced from Yankee Doodle Deli in Covington), dried snap peas, & a delightfully spicy/buttery crostini. We think it's pretty hard not to eat a whole bag of the stuff in one sitting.

Today's second item is a pair of Christmas Sweater socks from our friends at Kentucky for Kentucky. UK blue & white (sorry, Louisville adventers), throw on these super cozy socks, kick up your feet, and cheer on the Cats! OR for our Cards fans -- throw ‘em on under some boots, they'll keep your feet super warm this winter.

Psssst....check out this photo of our marketing team dressed as Spicy Snack Mix this past Halloween. We think we really pulled off the snack pack look ;)

Day 10 - Lil' cute, lil' spooky

How cute are these pins, y'all? Our good pals, Brian & Sara, at Cricket Press designed these awesome enamel pins just for our advent box this year! Did you know that Cricket Press has a studio in our Bread Box building at 501 West Sixth Street, and that they have helped design our can logos & more for years? We love working with these awesome humans, & we hope you wear these pins with pride.

Today's slot also contains a super cool beer - Castlewood IPA! Named after our local Castlewood Park in Lexington, KY -- where you can find the Loudon House, home of the Lexington Art League. We felt this beer would be appropriate to pair with your new Cricket Press swag, due to its artistic namesake. Castlewood is a Cascadian Dark Ale, more commonly known as a Black IPA, and has a dark and complex malt character balanced by aggressive citrus and spicy hop flavors. Castlewood is then aged on oak to make a smooth drinking beer. Typically, we release this beer for spooky season (I mean, just look at the label), but we added it to our advent box as a special, spooky, spicy treat! Chill it up & enjoy your Castlewood Black IPA!

Day 9 - Water?! I Hardly Know Her!

The ninth slot in the box is all about our NuLu partnership with Louisville Water. Did you know that beer is 90% water? That makes our friendship with Louisville Water all the more essential. Earlier this year, Louisville Water installed a water station in our Louisville taproom. If you've ever enjoyed some time at NuLu Yoga or Run Club -- or just needed to hydrate in between beers -- you can thank Louisville Water for that fresh, cold thirst quencher. In spirit of that, & the importance of quality water for quality beer, we also partnered with Lou Water & Cricket Press to paint a mural in our NuLu beer garden. Cricket Press designed a mural for us that was meant to celebrate our friendship, beer, & Louisville Pure Tap! It's a gorgeous piece that was hand painted by several West Sixth employees & some awesome Lou Water volunteers. Today's slot includes a straw from Louisville Water + a West Sixth NuLu Koozie -- sip your water through the reusable straw, and keep your cans (or reusable water bottles) cold with the super cool kooz!

Day 8 - Czech Pleaasseee!

Czech Plz! Today is all about celebrating our Louisville Taproom -- West Sixth NuLu! NuLu turned two years old just last month, and to celebrate, we brewed & canned a Czech style lager for their birthday celebrations. Czech Saaz hops lend subtle, but distinct spiciness and bitterness notes to compliment a clean, but full malt body made up of 100% Bohemian Floor Malted Pilsner malt. Clocking in at 5.4% ABV, a super easy drinking beer to enjoy any day of the year (like, maybe, today??)! Our NuLu pride spot also includes a NuLu patch + a West Sixth NuLu sticker. We can't wait to see where you stick 'em!

Day 6 - Mex Mocha!

It’s Mexican Mocha day!! This beer is BIG - big enough to hold its own today. An Imperial Coffee Stout, made with Sumatra coffee beans, chocolate, vanilla, pasilla, & ancho chili peppers added to the brew -- Mex Mocha is a tasty treat with a lil' kick! Clocking in at an impressive 9% ABV, if you open your advent in the morning, we suggest you definitely wait til after work to sip this beer! Mexican Mocha is available occasionally in 4-packs as a taproom exclusive.

Day 5 - PROST!

Prost! Does our DankeChain Oktoberfest realllyyy taste better in a mini-stein? We think it does! Let us know what you think. This slot contains (1) can of Our traditional German Lager, and your very own, advent exclusive, West Sixth branded mini-stein! Oktoberfest is a medium bodied, easy drinking lager with a subtle complexity -- usually only available in early fall, we saved a few cans for our advent boxers! We hope this slot brings you all kinds of stein-hoisting, beer-drinking, Okto cheer!
