DAY 8 - SANTA SEES YOU

Soooo did you notice anything different here? I KNOW you know the beer - our Cerveza is a West Sixth Classic. Thirst-quenching, sessionable, and ever light & crisp - it's a major crowd pleaser.

But look closer. For once, I'm not waxing poetic about the beer. OH NO! I'm talking about this incredible can art - designed by Brian Turner at Cricket Press exclusively for this year's advent box!! So, while I definitely think you should enjoy the hell out of this beer - save! that! can! Use it as a flower vase, a display piece, or even a tree ornament! The options are endless.

Just remember, if you throw out this very special can, Santa will see you. I'm not making a value judgment. That's his call. But he will see you. And Brian might too, IDK. He could be Santa. You don't know.

I kid of course - but do enjoy this can as much as you do its contents! It's a real work of art.

DAY 7 - FIND A PENNY PICK IT UP

Our lucky Penny <3 Our Pale Ale has a big fruity hop aroma with a taste that follows suit. A subtle and balanced malt character creates a canvas for the hops to shine. Pennyrile is one of my all-time faves - and certainly a favorite among West Sixth staff generally. Enjoy this can!

Also in today's slot is a sweet pint-glass koozie! As someone who is perpetually clumsy, I love love love these! Keeps that slippery glass from slipping. Also, in this cold weather, having that barrier between your cold lil fingies and the cold glass is a life saver. No joke. I highly recommend you chill up that Pennyrile, pour it in a glass, and take your new koozie for a spin! It IS Saturday, after all. Live a little ;)

DAY 6 - GO TEAM!

Today is a celebration of our partnership with Lexington Sporting Club!

DAY 5 - DOUBLE BEERS FOR SCIENCE

Today’s slot contains TWO of our winter-time faves - Castlewood Black IPA & MEXICAN MOCHA!! Read on for the beer descripys & more!

Castlewood Black IPA - This beer is for anyone whose favorite Christmas movie is The Nightmare Before Christmas. Our Cascadian Dark Ale, more commonly known as a Black IPA, has a dark and complex malt character balanced by an aggressive citrus and spicy character. This beer is aged on oak to create a more smooth drinking beer.

You may have gotten a pint or sip of this beer around Halloween - we roll it out in October every year. It's the perfect Halloween beer -- and dark & complex enough to carry through to the holidays, too!

I can’t write about this beer without giving a nod to the can design by Cricket Press, too. It evokes spooky season and pays homage to the beer's namesake, Castlewood Park in Lexington, with an illustration of the Loudon House. One of my all-time faves (shhhh dont tell IPA, he gets jealous)

Mexican Mocha - I’ll spare you the Mex Mocha history lesson this year - but you can read that here if you’re interested in peppers, chocolate, and royalty. An Imperial Stout with Sumatra coffee beans, chocolate, cinnamon, vanilla, pasilla, and ancho chili peppers added. These additions complement throughout and make for a tasty treat. 9% ABV. The alcohol/chili pepper/mocha combo will keep you warm from the inside out - and with this weather, I think we are all thankful for that.

DAY 4 - THIS SH*T IS CANANAS - C -A -N -A -N -A- S !

If you’ve been here before, you know we love to include a West Sixth themed game in our Advent Cal. If you haven’t been here before, welcome! We like to include a West Sixth themed game in our Advent Cal. 😆

This year’s game is CANAGRAMS! Our W6 riff on the classic word game, Bananagrams!

We designed this game with travel in mind - and not just because it needed to fit in the advent slot! We wanted you to have the perfect thing to bring along to all your holiday celebrations - so we made sure Canagrams was compact, and that everything fit neatly in the cute lil can. The rules are even printed on the side (and posted below) so you don’t even have to keep track of a piece of paper. We think that’s pretty darn cool & handy.

We hope you enjoy playing Canagrams as much as we enjoyed creating it. Classic family fun guaranteed!

WARNING: Proceed with caution when playing in complex family situations. While using Canagrams can be an effective tool for maintaining these familial relationships, we cannot control what your Aunt Jean or Uncle Frank uses their letters to spell, or whether or not you get too competitive like you did that one year during charades. Day 3 - PROST!

Oktoberfest feels like it was just yesterday... but in reality, it’s been almost exactly two months. Flime ties - time flies - when you're drinking good beer, amiright?

While the Munich-inspired festivities might be in the rearview, another reason to get on your Lederhosen or Dirndl is right in front of you. And if you’re not quite ready for a full costume revival, at least dust off those trusty steins—because Day 3 of the advent calendar is serving up some serious Gemütlichkeit.

Nestled in today’s slot is none other than our classic DankeChain Oktoberfest! This medium-bodied, malt-forward lager is a cozy addition to this year's advent box. With a grain bill boasting notes of biscuit, toast, and bread crust, and traditional noble hops for a well-balanced lager. At 5.5% ABV, it’s endlessly quaffable—ideal for an impromptu stein-raising session.

But wait, there’s more! To take this beer to the next level, we’ve included a little something extra: the CUTEST mini jar of our Galley Spice Blend! DAY 2 - J U I C Y

On the second day of Christmas West Sixth gave to meeeeeeee 

A can that’s super juicyyyyyy

Day two is Lazerwave Juicy IPA - a refreshing and juicy India Pale Ale with citrus, melon, peach, and mango hop notes, and balanced with a hint of lactose sweetness. 

If you haven’t had it before you’re in for a real treat. This is definitely one of my favorites to crack open and kick back with while daydreaming that I’m in a much warmer location.

For the full experience, I recommend getting this guy in the fridge ASAP, and setting up your lawn chair in the living room. UV lamps, sandbox, and sunscreen optional. Lazerwave Juicy IPA mandatory!

Side Note: If we came out with velour pants with Juicy IPA on the butt, do you A) think we’d get in trouble with a certain popular y2k brand and 2) would you buy them?
